Well, the Sabol family took their annual summer convention trip.  This year's participants were Bob & Liz, Scott & Lucy, and Terri & Bret (who never turn down a free trip).  The convention was held in Salt Lake City.  Scott & Lucy and Terri & Bret took part in the post trip to Zion National Park and Bryce National Park in southern Utah. Bob & Liz, having recently gone there, instead ventured north to Glacier National Park.  

 

As usual, there were many day trips to see attractions around the city, like a golf day, McCune Mansion, Park City, Sundance (no stars this time of year), a botanical garden... sorry, I dozed off... and the LDS Temple.

The CPDA convention this year got the State Governor to speak at the event.  This just show the lobbying power that the organization has been able to muster in recent years.  It was a great articulate 15 minute speach showing the importance that Utah places in getting jobs to come into the State.

The Sabol men and Bret took off to a local pristine course to play with other participants attending the convention.  This was a great way to interact and drum up business.  We also let the other win in having a better score in order to win contracts ... or maybe we just don't play that well.  (See videos below)

THAT DORF ON GOLF?

                                                               

The Temple of Latter day Saints (LDS) is the city center  of Salt Lake City.  We didn't get a chance to go in except for the practice time of the Grand Organ in the main cavernous auditorium.  Much history on this place, so check out their web site. (Click logo above)

The park did a nice recreation of the Mormon way of living back in the late 1800's and had character actors walking around play the parts.  Lots of friendly cows too!

The girls took a side trip to Park City and participated in summer activities such as ride the train, go on the ski lifts, and get stung by wild rabid bees.  Actually, only Terri has bee trouble, so best not mentuion that again!

The Sabol family (and Bret) split up after the end of the CPDA conference.  Bret, Terri, Scott, & Lucy headed south to visit the National Parks of Zion and Bryce Canyon.  We had a charter bus take us for the 3-day trip.  However, only 12-people ended up going and using a bus that holds 42.

We spent our first two nights at this lodge that had a wonderful view of the Utah landscape from the lobby, restaurant, and our rooms with  balcony.
