An occasional perk that comes up is the ability to meet your Boss’s Boss’s Boss’s Boss’s Boss’s Boss’s Boss … in my case, the President of the United States. He came into town for a political rally stump for the upcoming elections. As an added bonus, I was able to get the family in to see him as well.

Although there were many thousands of supporters at his rally at the Sugar Land Airport in SW Houston, few there had the ability to get up close to 43. However, the military and military families had a special invitation at his arrival/departure point Ellington Field (where I also work) which was not opened to the public.
The family arrives at Ellington Field and gets ready for 43s arrival.

As we wait for 43s arrival from the Sugar Land Airport rally, we hang out in front of the most powerful executive jet in the world.

Here we are watching snipers, watching us, watching them, watching us.

Presidential protection is serious business!

The Press is ready for 43.

At last, 43 finally arrives!!!

As 43 walked from his helicopter, he headed straight for the crowd rope line and began shaking hands.  As he made his way to our group, Bob, who had Rose on his shoulders, leaned over and President reached up and gave her a kiss on the cheek!!!  Wow!  How many people can say they have kissed a sitting President?

After a kiss to Rose, 43 couldn't help but notice RJ's bib which read "Future President" and asked Rachel if he could hold him.  The President then took some excellent pictures with RJ that were just priceless!!!
 Rachel eagerly hands over RJ.

The Marine One Presidential Helicopter Tour

As a bonus, the husband of the sister of Rob's old college roommate and mutual friend of Craig and I, flies as a pilot for the one many Marine One designated helicopters.  Brain got the Houston assignment, so Rob made a phone call and was able to arrange a tour for us.
