It is that time of year again. We celebrated our annual guys road trip for the Texans away game… This year the lucky cities were Oakland and the fantastic city of San Francisco. Bret, Craig, Sandy, and Brad made our plans and flew in to begin our 2006 away trip adventure! And this would be our most dangerous trip yet!!!

Once into SFO, we took the AirTram to the rent-a-car complex. It was a long ride, so we got a little bored already…

Brad would be a day later arriving into SF, so the three of us checked out the local area around our Fisherman’s Wharf hotel that night …

The next day, Brad arrived and we began touring around the SF Bay Area via car … sites was suppose to include a visit to some local wineries in the southern Marin County area. However, halfway there we realize that everything would be closed, so we came back to the Golden gate Bridge and Sausalito locale.

In the half-dozen or so times I have been to SF, the weather for the entire 5-day trip was sunny, warm, and cloudless… for the entire trip! The weather was spectacular!!! The pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge were a testament to how clear it was.
We used the bridge overlook plaza as a mini-model photo shoot, or so it seemed to get that way.

Food and drink where very abundant during this trip. We had eaten at both good and bad restaurants (trial & error)… but overall, we had a pretty good experience, including a wine tasting bistro, and the Cheesecake Factory in Union Square.

We took a taxi to China Town and walked around to enjoy the local culture.  We also did a little souvenir shopping, ate appetizers at a Sushi bar, went to a wine tasting bistro, and made our way to Union Square is the center of SF.
Macy’s in Union Square was beautifully lit up in a rainbow array of changing lights. Check out the video of this awesome display as well as a panorama of Union Square

We bought tickets for a special Sunset/Night tour of Alcatraz.  We got to see a beautiful sun set on the Golden Gate Bridge, a special outdoor guided tour, and extensive and unfettered inside access with virtually no crowds due to the limited night tour option we took.
Virtually no crowds!  You are never able to take pictures with corridors void of tourist.

Without a doubt, the Raider Fans are the most dedicated and costumed spectators in the NFL.  These dudes were actually the nicest of the fans towards us.  None had a problem posing for pictures with some bad-ass Texans...
